In a recent interview, Geh Geh explained that when artists who are trying to establish themselves in the music scene collaborate with Wizkid, the expected boost in popularity may not materialize as the attention often overwhelmingly favors the superstar.

He elaborated that Wizkid’s immense fame means that the spotlight naturally shifts to him, leaving little room for the featured upcoming artist to shine or attract recognition. This phenomenon, according to Geh Geh, is a major reason why some collaborations do not translate into long-term success for the lesser-known artists.

Based on this perspective, Geh Geh advised upcoming artists to carefully consider featuring Wizkid, highlighting that the potential benefits might be limited when it comes to personal branding and individual recognition in the industry.

He stated: “How many upcoming artists have featured Wizkid and actually blew? People say if they feature Wizkid on a song, the track doesn’t blow or the artist doesn’t blow. It’s not because Wizkid lacks talent, but because his star power overshadows the emerging artist. Wizkid’s presence carries all the glory. If you feature Wizkid on a track, no one will even notice you; it’s Wizkid who will get all the credit. Upcoming artists shouldn’t feature Wizkid if they want to be recognized; he takes all the glory…”

The discussion has gained traction online, with many music fans and industry observers sharing opinions on the challenges faced by new artists in leveraging high-profile collaborations while still maintaining individual recognition.
