Ayefele, who is widely respected for his resilience and contributions to gospel music and broadcasting in Nigeria, shared his heartbreaking concerns while addressing his listeners and supporters in an appreciation message after the recent fire outbreak that destroyed Fresh FM 105.9 and Blast FM 98.3 radio stations in Ibadan, Oyo State. The incident, which happened on August 15, 2025, left many of his fans and colleagues in shock, with many expressing sympathy and prayers for the music icon.

Speaking with a heavy heart, Ayefele noted that this was not the first time he had experienced devastating losses in the month of August. He emotionally recalled how his immediate younger brother, Oluwole Ayefele, who at the time was the commander of the anti-robbery squad in Ore, lost his life in a ghastly accident on August 2 many years ago. The painful memory, according to him, has remained etched in his heart as one of his greatest family tragedies.

The singer further recounted another major heartbreak that shook his career and livelihood. On August 19, seven years ago, the famous Music House in Ibadan, which served as the headquarters of Fresh FM and his music operations, was demolished in what he described as a cruel and unforgettable experience. The demolition, which drew widespread condemnation at the time, marked another August catastrophe in his life’s journey.

Bringing his lament to the present, Ayefele described the recent fire incident on August 15, 2025, as yet another dark moment that has left him confused about why his greatest pains are tied to the same month every year. In his words: “There is something I don’t understand. Some years ago, my immediate younger brother… had an accident and d!ed on August 2. Also, seven years ago on August 19, my music house was demolished. Now on August 15, 2025, my music house caught fire. It was the men of God who came to pray for me that called my attention to this. Why always August? I don’t know what is going on.”

Despite his sorrow, Ayefele maintained a tone of gratitude and faith. He expressed profound appreciation to God, acknowledging that although the losses were heavy, his life and mission were spared. He also thanked friends, fans, colleagues, and government officials, including Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State, who have shown him love, offered prayers, and stood firmly by his side during these trying times. According to him, the encouragement and compassion he has received serve as his greatest source of strength and determination to continue moving forward.

The gospel singer further assured his followers that he would not allow the misfortunes of August to break his spirit, stressing that his faith in God remains unshaken and his resolve to inspire people through his music and broadcasting platforms even stronger.
