This clarification comes after a recent viral video where the singer passionately referred to God using the word ‘Steeze’.

‘Steeze’ is a popular English term used to describe someone’s unique swag and attractive appearance.

In response to the criticism, Victoria Orenze has defended her use of the term by referencing Bible verses that describe God with various powerful imagery, such as fire, vehicle, thunder, and more.

She explained, “Steeze is an English word in the dictionary that denotes a person’s distinctive and impressive way of doing things or style, as well as someone who has composure. God’s distinctive and impressive way, style, and composure are awe-inspiring. Scriptures describe Him as a consuming fire (Heb. 12:29), wrapped in light (Psalm 104:2), with the cloud as His vehicle (Psalm 104:3), His eyes like fire (Rev. 19:12, 1:14), and His voice like thunder, like the sound of many waters. Additionally, in His presence, mountains skip like rams (Psalm 114:1-8).”

She continued, “He is not just composure but everything else created loses their composure before Him. He is not just covered in light but He is light. Today He might ride on the cloud as His vehicle, and tomorrow He may ride the wind. That’s why I call Him my Jehovah El Steeze.”

Orenze further emphasized, “I follow understanding and revelation, not slang or trends. Pause in your trends and see God. Finally, I leave this with us – the fact that we have used the word ‘Steeze’ as slang or another example word ‘loose guard’ as slangs does not change their meaning in English. The Scriptures say, ‘The ONE that watches over me neither sleeps nor slumbers,’ so I can safely say my God does not and can never lose guard. ❤️🤗.”
