Popular activist and social media personality, Verydarkman, has strongly criticized renowned gospel singer Mercy Chinwo after she unexpectedly followed him on Instagram, sparking widespread debate among fans and netizens.
It would be recalled that the two were previously at odds after Verydarkman publicly intervened in Mercy Chinwo’s legal dispute with her former manager, Eezee Concept. The dispute had attracted significant attention online, with Verydarkman accusing Mercy Chinwo of manipulating the situation to her advantage.
Following months of tension and public back-and-forth, her former manager eventually issued a public apology and retracted his statements against Mercy Chinwo. Shortly afterward, Mercy Chinwo decided to follow Verydarkman on Instagram, a move that shocked many fans and observers.
In reaction, Verydarkman accused Mercy Chinwo of being manipulative and attempting to patronize him with her sudden social media gesture. He asserted that she had coerced her manager into retracting his statements and that her following him was part of a broader strategy to control narratives online.
Verydarkman firmly stated that he does not want any form of association with her and even went as far as threatening to block her from his Instagram account if she did not unfollow him immediately.

“Mercy Chinwo you can’t follow me. I will definitely block you. You can’t patronise me… I don’t associate myself with evil. Especially evil disguising as gospel artists. Remove yourself from my followers or I go block you…”
