Controversial Nigerian activist and social commentator Verydarkman has once again sparked conversations online after addressing Nollywood actress Nkechi Blessing over a recent incident involving her gym photo that went viral. The photo, which circulated widely on social media platforms, drew mixed reactions from fans, critics, and followers alike. Verydarkman, known for his blunt and often provocative statements, used the situation to call out the actress and make a surprising offer.
In an Instagram video shared on his page, Verydarkman stated that he would reward the individual responsible for taking the gym photo with a substantial sum of ₦500,000. He framed the gesture as a response to past interactions with Nkechi Blessing, recalling a time in 2023 when the actress had insulted him online. He remarked that while she had mocked him by calling him an “animal” and accusing him of living in a “rat house,” he now felt vindicated.
“I have ₦500,000 for the person that snapped Nkechi’s picture at the gym. In 2023, she called me an animal and said I lived in a rat house. Thank God I don’t live in a rat house anymore,” he stated during the clip, highlighting the irony and expressing a sense of personal triumph over the previous online insult.
Calling out hypocrisy
Verydarkman went further by accusing Nkechi Blessing of hypocrisy, pointing out that she herself had once publicly bodyshamed another woman. In 2023, the actress had shared a photo of a woman online, labeling her a “walking infection.” He contrasted this incident with her current reaction to the leaked gym photo, framing it as a case of karma catching up with her.
“You were cursing the person that snapped the picture. Was it not you that posted the picture of a lady in 2023 and called her a walking infection? It is karma that is dealing with you,” he asserted, emphasizing his point that public figures should be prepared to face similar scrutiny when they subject others to humiliation.
“Stop hiding behind filters”
In addition to addressing the gym photo, Verydarkman also criticized the actress for allegedly misrepresenting her appearance on social media. He claimed that Nkechi Blessing relies heavily on filters to enhance her look online, warning that people are often surprised when confronted with her unfiltered appearance.
“If you have been showing the social media your real self, you will not be mad that someone took your picture. Nobody can take my picture and put it online. I always show my real self. You look like Beyoncé on social media with filter, but when the filter is gone, you look like you,” he said, adding a humorous yet biting critique of the actress’s online persona.
Verydarkman concluded his post by urging the individual who captured the gym photo to contact him directly to claim the ₦500,000 reward, turning the viral moment into a financial opportunity for the photographer.
