Popular activist, Verydarkman, has openly countered the claims made by presidential aide, Daniel Bwala, regarding the former Anambra governor and presidential hopeful, Peter Obi.
It would be recalled that Daniel Bwala had recently criticized Peter Obi for allegedly lacking empathy, citing his failure to visit the victims of violence and crises in Benue State. According to Bwala, even activist Verydarkman had shown more compassion and presence by visiting the state, while Obi did not.
In a new video shared online, Verydarkman addressed Bwala’s claims directly and explained that Peter Obi had indeed intended to visit Benue State earlier this year. However, his visit was reportedly blocked by the governor of the state at the time, which prevented him from reaching the victims and offering support in person.

“Mr Bwala, you said Peter Obi was not there and that he lacks empathy. Let me break it down for you. I’m not trying to support Peter Obi blindly, but back in April 2025, Peter Obi was stopped from entering Benue State by the governor. Since Peter Obi and his supporters started this ADC movement, many of you have been restless. Today Wike will speak, tomorrow you will speak, and they haven’t even given him the presidential ticket yet.”
He went on to criticize the ongoing political attacks against Peter Obi, suggesting that many figures were intentionally targeting him out of fear or political rivalry rather than genuine concern for victims.
As the video circulated widely on social media, it sparked intense reactions from Nigerians, with many defending Peter Obi and praising Verydarkman for speaking up and clarifying the situation.
