Nigerian singer Ayoleyi Hanniel Solomon, widely known by his stage name Reekado Banks, has strongly responded to a social media troll who ridiculed him for attending church, claiming that his decision to seek spiritual growth was because his music career had declined.
The incident started when popular skit maker and content creator Kesari took to Instagram to share his thoughts about drawing closer to God. In his post, he revealed that he was battling with a decision on whether to practice Christianity or Islam. Seizing the moment, Reekado Banks encouraged Kesari to join him in attending his church services.

Shortly afterward, videos surfaced online showing Reekado Banks and Kesari worshipping together in church. The clips quickly went viral, attracting a wide range of reactions from fans and online users. While many applauded the singer for publicly identifying with his faith and for encouraging Kesariβs spiritual journey, others criticized the move.
Among the critics was a troll who sparked controversy by posting a sharp remark: βWhen they fail at music, they start going to church.β The comment gained traction and drew mixed sentiments, with some accusing the troll of being unnecessarily disrespectful.
Reekado Banks, a former Mavin Records star who rose to fame with several hit singles and collaborations, did not let the insult slide. In a video response posted on his own social media page, the award-winning artist expressed his anger. He said: βFcck that Nigga whose comment I saw that made me feel down today. My friend called me and told me to delete it. Fcck you!β His fiery words reflected his refusal to allow negativity to undermine his personal or spiritual choices.
The videos of Reekado and Kesari in church, along with his bold clapback, have continued to trend, fueling discussions about faith, public perception of celebrities, and how stars handle trolling on social media.
