Tolani, the daughter of business mogul Femi Otedola, revealed the extravagant gift on her Instagram story, where she showed the carefully packaged tropical fruit she received from a well-wisher who knew about her deep love for mangoes.
A gift with a twist
While unboxing the fruit, Tolani expressed both joy and slight amusement. She noted that the mango came with a detailed instruction manual entirely written in Japanese, leaving her unable to understand the recommended way of eating it. Despite the language barrier, she humorously shared her excitement, adding that she had to use Google to check its market value and was surprised by its hefty price tag.
In her words: “Somehow, I have become the girl people send fruits to instead of nice things like jewelries. I am getting fruits but hey, beggars can’t be choosers. This time, I have received a tropical Okinawa mango. I love mangoes but I love Naija mangoes,” she said, beaming with excitement.
Tolani continued: “This is very exciting, it has a manual on how to eat it in Japanese. Am I supposed to say how much this was because I don’t think the person thinks I should know but I googled it. This is 180 pounds. That smells so good. Jehova is lord! I am speechless, I wish I could read what this manual is saying but I bet it’s saying ‘good as fcck.’”
