Nigerian TikToker, Olaoluwa Segun, popularly known as Olas, has opened up about his harrowing experience during a short stint in Yaba Panti cell following a controversial comment he made online regarding a popular Nigerian actress.
The incident traces back to July 2025, when Olas falsely alleged that renowned actress Dayo Amusa was among Nigerian celebrities living with HIV. The claim quickly went viral, attracting significant backlash across social media platforms and putting the TikToker in hot water.

Dayo Amusa Breaks Silence On HIV Status
In response to the allegations, Dayo Amusa publicly refuted Olas’ claim. She reminded the public that she had shared her HIV-negative status back in 2019 as part of a campaign to raise awareness about HIV testing, education, and destigmatization. Amusa emphasized that misinformation regarding such sensitive topics could be harmful, and stressed the importance of responsible content creation online.
Following the viral allegations, Dayo Amusa reportedly considered taking legal action against Olas, vowing to make him a cautionary example for other content creators, highlighting the potential consequences of spreading false and damaging claims about individuals.
TikToker Recounts Experience In Yaba Panti Cell
Olas has now shared details of his experience while in detention at Yaba Panti, revealing that he spent two days in the correctional facility after his controversial comment. In a video posted to his TikTok account, he described the harsh conditions within the cell, which housed approximately 60 inmates at the time, creating a tense and overwhelming environment for a first-time detainee.
According to Olas, one of the more experienced inmates recognized him from TikTok and offered protection, assigning him a bunk and helping him navigate the challenging environment. Olas shared insights into the treatment of new inmates, including the strict hierarchy and protocols they face upon arrival, underscoring how intimidating the environment can be for outsiders unfamiliar with the prison system.
Olas expressed gratitude to Dayo Amusa for forgiving him, acknowledging the actress’ decision not to escalate the matter further. He stated, “I want to thank Aunty Dayo Amusa for forgiving me. If not that she changed her mind, I would have been there for a long time,” highlighting the significant impact her forgiveness had on his ordeal.
