Controversial activist, VeryDarkMan, has taken to video to express his deep disappointment and frustration with Nollywood as a whole after a heartfelt plea for assistance with his hospital bills was made by the renowned actor, Mr. Ibu.
Mr. Ibu, the Nollywood legend, celebrated his birthday with his family, and during the celebration, he released a video seeking help from the public for his medical condition.
[/p]This video seemed to trigger a passionate response from VeryDarkMan, who immediately called out Nollywood as an industry. He stated that Mr. Ibu should not have to beg for help and that it highlights the lack of a structured support system within the movie industry.
VeryDarkMan acknowledged Mr. Ibu as a legend with a wealth of great movies to his name, but he pointed out that many Nigerians do not give these legends the respect they deserve. He firmly believes that Nollywood should have reached a point where it can provide pensions for legendary actors like Mr. Ibu.
Concluding the video, VeryDarkMan urged his over six hundred thousand followers on the app to contribute at least a thousand Naira to help Mr. Ibu cover the costs of his necessary surgery.
