Tems, the Nigerian musician, has candidly discussed her love life, clarifying why she isn't interested in dating her colleague Asake.
Despite expressing admiration for Asake and his music in previous instances, Tems emphasized during an interview with The Beat 99.9 FM that her affection for Asake is purely platonic, and she has no intention of dating the fellow musician.
In the interview, when asked about her interest in directing, Tems jokingly mentioned wanting to direct a music video for Asake, praising his artistic approach and creative thinking. The interviewer teased her about the possibility of a romantic interest, to which Tems clarified that her admiration is solely professional, intending to direct videos for Asake.
INTERVIEWER: Is directing something you’re looking to do not just for yourself but for other artists as well? And if so, who do you think you’d like to work with?
TEMS: Uhmmm, I’d want to direct a video for Asake [laughs and blushes].

TEMS: No, because I can tell that he’s very artsy and he thinks outside the box. Ah ah.
INTERVIEWER: Just for work right? You just like him for work?
TEMS: Just to direct the videos. Asin, what do you mean?
INTERVIEWER: Oh, because he’s mine!
