Nigerian stand-up comedian, AY Makun, has officially called for peace and ended his long-standing beef with fellow comedian and former friend, Basketmouth. This announcement was made during a recent comedy show where AY Makun sent a note of peace offering to Basketmouth, whose real name is Bright Okpocha.
AY Makun had previously addressed their 17-year beef in an interview, shedding light on how the issue started and how he had called for a resolution which Basketmouth had refused to submit to. However, during the recent comedy show, AY Makun reiterated that their relationship was not a beef but rather a misunderstanding that needed to be resolved.
He went on to use the feud between Tupac Shakur and Notorious B.I.G. in the 1990s as an example of what could be called a beef. AY Makun emphasized that he and Basketmouth were colleagues in the entertainment industry and it was necessary for them to maintain a healthy relationship for the growth of the industry.
In his concluding remarks, AY Makun made it clear that he had no ill feelings towards Basketmouth and that they would continue to be friends for life. He even went further to ask anyone who saw Basketmouth to tell him that he was still his "gee" (colloquial term for friend) for life.
