Sheggz, the reality TV personality, has staunchly defended his girlfriend, Bella Okagbue, against recent criticism targeting her accent and voice.
Commending Bella for her authenticity on X (formerly Twitter), Sheggz strongly condemned the disapproving practice of impersonating someone else’s accent.
Expressing his discontent with the prevalent body shaming and disparaging comments aimed at women in 2023, Sheggz emphasized the unacceptability of such behavior in a tweet:
“So it’s now cool to be faking an accent. I love the fact that my woman is real, and true to herself. I think it’s sad that in 2023 people want to body shame a woman and speak down on her. It will never be ok, and if she overreacted then it’s understandable because enough is enough.”
This comes in the wake of a previous incident where Bella Okagbue addressed a troll [/b]directly for mocking her singing voice, showcasing her frustration at constant body- and voice-shaming.
Despite the troll's attempt to downplay the remark, stating it wasn't meant to be cruel, Bella's fans discovered a pattern of deliberate provocation through persistent trolling over several months.
This incident follows Bella making headlines for facing criticism from certain Nigerians who mocked her statement about her and Sheggz being deemed too costly to work with.
