Nigerians have reacted to the news that Afrobeat artists Tems and Rema have made it onto former American president Barack Obama's 2024 summer playlist.
Each year, the 44th President of the United States has released a list of his favorite songs, and this year’s list includes these two prominent Afrobeat artists.

Over the years, several Afrobeat artists have featured on his esteemed list, and this year, Tems and Rema are the only two representing the genre.
Tems earned her spot with her hit track “Love Me Jeje” from her latest album, “Born in the Wild.” Meanwhile, Rema’s song “Yayo” from his recent album “HEIS” also made it to Obama’s playlist.
