Nigerian singer Portable has been reportedly freed from the custody of the Lagos State Police Command after fulfilling bail conditions. Portable was detained on Tuesday over allegations of failing to complete payment for his upscale SUV, the G-Wagon.
The ‘Zazzu’ crooner had purchased a Mercedes Benz GLE 350 from Ogunsanwo Temitope (Temmy Autos), an auto dealer in Lagos, but allegedly failed to settle the full payment. Investigations revealed that Portable only paid N13 million out of the N27 million valuation of the vehicle, leaving a N14 million balance unpaid.
SP Benajmin Hundeyin, the Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, confirmed Portable's release to Vanguard on Wednesday evening, stating, “I have no idea about it but what I can say is that he has been granted bail.”
