Porsha Williams, known for her role in the Real Housewives of Atlanta, has officially filed for divorce from her Nigerian husband, Simon Guobadia, just 15 months after their marriage.
Reports suggest that the split, which occurred on February 23, is unrelated to allegations regarding Guobadia's citizenship status. Earlier, there were reports that Guobadia, 59, had faced repeated denials of residency in the United States, but he seemed unconcerned, posting "#42yearsLivinginAmerica" on Instagram on February 20.
Porsha Williams has not publicly commented on the divorce, maintaining her last name on Instagram, and images with her estranged husband remain on her profile.
Porsha and Guobadia announced their engagement in May 2021, and they officially tied the knot in November 2022 after a month of dating. The divorce filing comes more than a week after Porsha Williams confirmed her return to RHOA for season 16 as part of a broader scripted talent agreement with NBCUniversal.
In a statement on February 13, she expressed gratitude for NBCUniversal's vision and faith in her, saying, "Iām looking forward to getting back on The Real Housewives of Atlanta and showing the world my new world!"
