Veteran Nollywood actress, Patience Ozokwo, known as "Mama G," was overcome with tears of joy as she received the prestigious Industry Merit Award at the recently concluded AMVCA ceremony.
The actress expressed her surprise and gratitude for being honored with the esteemed award. In her emotional acceptance speech, Patience shared how fellow actor Charles Inojie convinced her to attend the event without revealing the recognition awaiting her.
Patience took to her Instagram account to express her gratitude and mentioned that she would write a heartfelt appreciation post for everyone involved.
However, she mentioned needing some time to recover from the shock of the award. Patience faced several obstacles earlier in the day, including a canceled flight from Benin and a delayed flight from Asaba. Despite these challenges, she managed to make it to Lagos, thanks to Charles Inojie's encouragement.
In her Instagram post, Patience mentioned her initial concerns about not being able to make it to Lagos but expressed her appreciation to Charles Inojie for encouraging her. She also stated that she needed rest for now and would share her speech later.

“A few hours ago, I was telling my daughter that I might not make it to Lagos because of the canceled flight and the delayed last flight out of Asaba. I had just attended a family wedding in the East on Friday and barely made it back to Lagos. Thanks to @charlesinojie for encouraging me to come. For now, let me rest. My speech will come later.”
