Guinness World Records [/b]has recognized Nigerian biochemist Oside Oluwole for completing the longest video game marathon.
Acknowledging this achievement on social media, GWR named him the new record holder.
24-year-old Oluwole played a soccer video game nonstop for 75 hours, tallying over 500 games, surpassing the previous record of 50 hours set by Englishman David Whitefoot in 2022.
Hailing from Ijebu-Ode, Oluwole undertook this challenge to raise funds for a local hospital.
GWR acknowledged Oluwole’s remarkable accomplishment, noting that he significantly surpassed the previous record.
In their announcement of Oluwole’s feat, GWR stated:
“No one in the past has broken this record by such a large margin as Oside has. The record was initially set in 2010 at 24 hours and gradually increased to 50 hours after being broken seven times over 11 years.”
