Renowned Nigerian footballer, Jay Jay Okocha, has finally broken his silence, coming to the defense of his nephew, Alex Iwobi, who has been facing criticism from fans following the Super Eagles' recent defeat in the AFCON.
Iwobi, in response to the relentless online backlash, even had to wipe his social media account clean. Some speculations have circulated, suggesting that his position in the national team is influenced by his uncle, Jay Jay Okocha.
Addressing the situation, Okocha has taken to prayer, particularly for those harboring negativity. He voiced his unwavering support for his nephew, expressing love for him amidst the challenges.
In his own words:
“I pray for my country Nigeria and the people that can only hate and see nothing good in others, when effort counts for nothing, treat people the way you want them to treat you, all we have is this life is each other, we love you @alexanderiwobi ❤️ and we keep going no matter what they say, the lord is good all the time and we trust that his will be done in our lives amen 🙏”
