Famous footballer, Odion Ighalo’s ex-wife, Sonia, has publicly asked him to come and take back his bride price, while revealing that her father was the sole sponsor of their traditional wedding.
According to reports, Gistreel recalls that the two former couple have been exchanging heated words and subtle jabs online for several days now, further escalating the tension between them.
A few days ago, Sonia commented on the rumors that Odion Ighalo was planning to remarry. Her estranged husband responded by telling her to rest and move on from the issue.
In a fresh twist, Sonia has now taken to social media to ask the footballer to come and retrieve the bride price he paid for her hand in marriage.
She claimed that she had made all the necessary arrangements to return the bride price some years ago, but Ighalo and his family failed to show up, causing her to waste money in the process.
Sonia’s exact words were…
“Please make plans to come and collect your bride price. You might remember that I made similar plans around three or four years ago, but your family didn’t show up. I wasted money organizing a lovely farewell party, with plenty of food and entertainment, only for your people not to turn up. Knowing full well that my father was the sole sponsor of our traditional wedding, your mother’s children showed a lack of respect by keeping my father and the elders waiting for nothing. Your older brother, as you mentioned in Dubai, said he was afraid of my father and couldn’t visit our home. Please send your village representatives or your esteemed uncle, Sir Clement Ighalo, to collect the bride price.”
