Actress Nkechi Blessing Sunday has lamented over Nigeria’s economic circumstances after buying a tuber of yam [/b]for N10K.
She disclosed how she had just spent her entire N150,000 buying necessities at an Ogba market.
Nkechi questioned the sustainability of the current economic conditions on her Instagram page, asking whether others had given up on the state of affairs.
She enumerated the things she purchased, emphasizing how expensive life is.
Nkechi felt compelled to express her worries despite acknowledging that she was not rich hence feeling the heat in the country.
She added that people from different economic backgrounds are having difficulties, and that it might be time for her to look into chances overseas.
She penned:
“So I carried N150k to the market to buy basic things – Turkey 2 kilos, catfish, life chicken, and goat meat. Guess what? N1000 didn’t return home with me. One yam na N10000 now. I noticed that people aren’t talking about the economy anymore; it’s like you guys enjoy it. I am not rich, so I will complain. Besides, even the rich are complaining. I am not the rich but one of the masses, and I am complaining like this.
It’s time to dust my passport because it is no longer getting funny.”
