Divine Ikubor, a Nigerian singer better known by his stage name Rema, recently opened up about the impact of his father's death on his perspective.
According to the "Holiday" singer, he didn't take life seriously during his childhood until the passing of his father, which made him truly appreciate the value of family.
During a conversation on the Afrobeats podcast hosted by Adesope Olajide, Rema shared that losing his father, Mr. Ikubor, shaped his mindset and mood significantly.
He reflected on his past, saying, "There was a point in time I was very colorful, I would say. I was funny, running around, and unserious. I never took life seriously until when I lost my dad. And it just shows different sides of people. It just shows the importance of family as well."
Rema highlighted the unpredictability of life and the importance of cherishing loved ones, stating that family members might have their disagreements, but it's crucial to cherish the time spent together.
He fondly recalled his father referring to him as a soldier and shared how his father's passing impacted his perspective on life.
