DMW’s new signee, Morravey, has shared details of the messages she received from her record label boss, Davido, before she was signed to the label.
In an interview with Turntable Charts, the excited singer revealed that she was shocked and overwhelmed when she received Davido’s message. She said that she was lying on her bed when she saw the message and that she froze.
According to Morravey, Davido had requested her mobile number and revealed his intention to sign her. Morravey explained that the whole experience started when she was practicing to make a cover of a song, and her friend was recording her without her knowledge. After weeks of trying to post the video of the song cover they made, they couldn't post it. Her friend then posted a video where she was not showing in it. She said that when her friend posted the video, it went viral and everyone started talking about it.
Morravey said that she woke up one morning to see a text message from Davido on her phone, and when she checked it, she was surprised to see that it was Davido. She shouted ‘Ye!’ and froze on her bed. Then, she texted her manager to inform him about the message. She said that Davido told her that her voice was amazing and asked for her number. Davido then texted her on WhatsApp, and they had a conversation where he revealed his intention to sign her to DMW. He invited her to Lagos, and she pushed from Port Harcourt to Lagos to meet him.
