In response to allegations surrounding the late Nigerian musician Mohbad's twisted neck inside the coffin, his cousin Darosha Losobeh has stepped forward to address the controversy.
Contrary to claims of breaking Mohbad's neck, Losobeh vehemently denies any intentional harm to the deceased and urges people to refrain from making false accusations against him.
A widely circulated video purportedly shows Losobeh adjusting Mohbad's neck in the coffin to accommodate the burial. Darosha clarifies that due to a lack of space at the morgue, they had no alternative but to bury Mohbad in that manner.
Expressing emotional distress on his Instagram page, Mohbad's cousin and personal assistant share the impact of the accusations on his mental well-being.
Darosha provides context, explaining that they were instructed to pay for an ambulance and a casket to temporarily store Mohbad until the next day. He claims to have personally covered the expenses for the coffin and ambulance and was unaware that the coffin's size would pose a problem.
In his own words, he writes:
"I’m so down to the extent that I had to write this to clear this whole story about me going online that I bent my love’s neck; this is the craziest and saddest thing that ever happened to me in my whole life. That I broke my brother’s neck, seriously, this hurt me so much.
“What happened about the neck was that when we got to Ikorodu, we were told there was no space to keep his body at the mortuary, and we didn’t want him buried that night. So, a worker there advised the family to pay for an ambulance and a coffin where we could keep him until morning, and the same ambulance would drive him down to the place of burial.
The whole family agreed to the idea because the ambulance that took us to Ikorodu was complaining that they had to leave the same night back to the island. It was only his mum that was not present there that midnight.”
