Liya departs from Davido's DMW record label after two years

Liya, also known as Abdulsalam Suliyat Modasola, has gained fame as a prominent Nigerian singer and songwriter. Recently, she made headlines with her association with Davido Music Worldwide (DMW), Davido's record label. However, in response to an Instagram follower's question, Liya revealed that she is no longer officially signed to DMW. Despite this development, she emphasized that she will always consider herself a part of the DMW family.

The music world took notice of Liya when she released her debut single titled "Melo" shortly after signing with DMW in 2020. Her signing marked a significant milestone as she became the first female artist to join Davido's label, earning her the coveted title of "First Lady" of DMW. Even before the official announcement of her signing, Liya had already teased fans with an upcoming track titled "Be My Vibe." Her exceptional talent is managed and nurtured by Vanzy Vanz, who serves as her manager.

At just 24 years old, Liya has already made a name for herself as a promising Afrobeat singer with a distinct voice and style. She received her primary and high school education in Lagos before pursuing linguistics studies at the University of Ilorin.

While her official status with DMW may have changed, Liya's undeniable talent and strong connection to the DMW family promise an exciting future for this gifted artist in the Nigerian music scene.
