Narrating a poignant chapter from his past, reality star and former Big Brother Naija Lockdown Season 5 winner Laycon shared the hardships he endured in 2013. During a weekend of solitude in Shodeinde Hostel, Laycon faced severe hunger and financial constraints.
In a vivid recollection, Laycon revealed that, in a state of desperation, he resorted to using toilet water from the hostel to soak garri for sustenance. The dire situation left him with no choice but to consume the garri without sugar, and he lacked the means to buy a sachet of water. Consequently, Laycon had to use sewage water to soak the garri, highlighting the depth of his adversity.
He expressed the gravity of the situation with the words, “One of my lowest lows was using Shodeinde Hostel toilet water to soak garri in 2013. I was alone in my wing that weekend, and I was starving. I wasn’t hungry o, I was starving. So I soaked Garri with no sugar and used toilet tap water to drink it… as I Dey soak the garri, water dey commot for my eyes.”
