Nigerian singer, Korede Bello, recently shared his thoughts on the current state of the music industry during an episode of Hip TV’s programme Trending, hosted by reality star Kim Oprah.

In the conversation, Korede Bello expressed his concern that the influx of young artistes blowing up has led to a noticeable decline in the overall quality of music being produced today. According to him, the inexperience of these young artists is a significant factor contributing to this trend.

Korede Bello elaborated on his point, saying:

“When you start to have young artistes blowing up, the quality of the music starts to reduce because they don’t have quality experiences.

“They don’t know how to live yet. Young people don’t yet know how to live, they just know that they are living. They want to live large, so that’s what they’re going to sing about.

He further compared the current generation of artists to veterans in the industry, stating, “If you listen to an African China, where he’s coming from, he has seen things. Timaya, Fela—all have experiences. Their songs are expressions of reality.”

However, Korede Bello emphasized that the younger artists should not be blamed for this situation, as they are simply reflecting their limited life experiences in their music. He concluded, “We should not blame these young artists; you can only give what you have.”
