The renowned singer and co-founder of Five Star Music, Kcee, takes a swipe at his former signee, Harrysong, in response to allegations that Harrysong wrote a significant portion of Kcee's hit songs during their association with the record label.
It's noteworthy that Harrysong has consistently accused Kcee and his brother, E-Money, of withholding his artistic rights and claimed to be the mastermind behind many of Kcee’s chart-topping tracks.
In a recent interview on the Afrobeats podcast, Kcee refutes Harrysong’s assertions and sheds light on the matter.
Kcee clarifies that during the time when he and his former partner, Presh, won the Star Quest talent show and secured a deal with Kennis Music, Harrysong was still residing in the village with his grandmother. Kcee questions whether Harrysong can claim credit for the albums released during that period.
Emphasizing that it has been eight years since Harrysong's departure from Five Star Music, Kcee points out that Harrysong continues to produce hit songs independently, challenging the narrative of his alleged dependency on the label's support.
Expressing concern for Harrysong’s well-being, Kcee suggests that spiritual guidance may be necessary, especially in light of reported conflicts between Harrysong and his wife and former manager, Soso.
In Kcee's words, “When I won Star Quest, Harrysong was in the village with his grandmother. I did three albums with Kennis Music, did Harrysong write those? Harrysong has a problem, we need to pray for him. Jokes apart, we need to pray for him.”
