Nigerian footballer Kayode Olanrenwaju has reportedly filed for divorce from his estranged wife, Dora Ezinne at a Federal Capital Territory High Court in Abuja.
The European-based football player, who is also vying for custody of their kids, asked the court to award him ₦1 billion in damages against Tobi Adegboyega, a pastor in the UK, for the mental anguish, loss of money, and strained relationship brought on by his “adulterous affair” with Ezinne.
It is worth noting that Olanrenwaju and Ezinne have been at odds over a number of issues, including accusations of infidelity. The situation changed when Ezinne filed a lawsuit against her ex-husband.
Olanrenwaju’s cross-petition names Ezinne as the Respondent and the pastor residing in the UK as the Co-Respondent.
The Super Eagles striker further stated in his cross-petition that his divorced wife had abducted their kids, who had subsequently been rescued by Department of State Services officials.
The Respondent then instructed his attorney to file a petition with the DSS on behalf of the marriage’s abducted children. Olanrewaju also claimed that his divorced wife was sabotaging their joint business endeavors.
A hearing on this issue has been scheduled for September 24, 2024.
