A renowned Yoruba actress, Tobola Olayinka, popularly known as Iya Gbonkan, was recently gifted a new car by Alexes Promotions, a film promotions company based in the United Kingdom. Iya Gbonkan had publicly reached out to wealthy individuals in Nigeria, expressing her need for a car and her reliance on motorcycles and public transportation to travel to film locations. Responding to her appeal, Alexes Promotions decided to show their support and appreciation for Iya Gbonkan, who is considered a legend in the film industry. Mustapha Jayeola, representing the company, explained that the purpose of the gesture was to encourage and uplift Iya Gbonkan. The CEO of Alexes Promotions, Omobolanle Olatise, came across Iya Gbonkan's plea on social media and immediately instructed Jayeola and others in Nigeria to locate her and assess her specific needs. When contacted, Iya Gbonkan expressed her desire for a car, stating her exhaustion with the challenges of relying on motorcycles and public transportation. Alexes Promotions quickly found a suitable car, and Iya Gbonkan promptly paid for it within 30 minutes of being informed. The presentation of the car was a surprise, as she was unaware of the generous gesture. Overwhelmed with gratitude, Iya Gbonkan, accompanied by Alirat Adunni (Tamotiye) and Toyin Oladiran (Abeni Agbon), struggled to find words to express her appreciation. She offered prayers for God's blessings upon Alexes Promotions and their entire family. It is worth mentioning that apart from the car, Iya Gbonkan has also received cash donations amounting to N5 million following her appeal for assistance.
