Renowned Nigerian actress Ini Edo has opened up about her bold decision to confront a man at his office, shedding light on the circumstances surrounding her actions.
During a discussion about the media's pressure to generate sensational stories, Ini Edo, a prominent actress and mother, revealed her experiences in an exclusive interview with media personality Chude Jideonwo. She disclosed that the media would often fabricate stories if they couldn't find any truthful information to report.
Ini Edo recounted an incident where she personally visited the office of a male publisher to inquire if she had done something to offend him. However, she was met with the response that they would create a story if they couldn't find any real material.
Rather than engaging in legal battles with the media, Ini Edo made a conscious decision to prioritize her career. She acknowledged that if the media wanted to portray her as a sex symbol in order to boost their sales, she would allow them to do so without letting it affect her professional opportunities.
She expressed her perspective by stating, "It was at that point that I said, you know what, it's your hustle, it's not about me. I realized that trying to sue this one, trying to sue that one was draining me, taking my energy, distracting me. I was getting depressed and I said you know what?... it is what it is. The jobs and endorsements kept coming and I'm like, if you guys want to peg me as a sex symbol just to sell your papers and I'm still getting my jobs and endorsements, be my guest."
