The actress, known for her roles in Nollywood films, tied the knot with Philip Ehiagwina, an American-based businessman, on November 29, 2008. However, their marriage only lasted for five years, leading to their eventual divorce in 2013.
During the interview, when asked about her regrets, Ini Edo acknowledged that getting married at that time was not the right decision for her. She openly admitted, "I regretted my decision to get married because it wasn't the right move to make." Despite her past experiences, she also expressed openness to giving marriage another chance if the right person comes along.

Since she did not have a husband, she made the decision to have a child for herself through surrogacy. She wanted the child to be biologically hers, and fortunately, her eggs were viable, allowing her to proceed with the surrogacy process.
