According to her, the songs she creates are meant for individuals who are going through similar experiences as she did, as well as those who can relate to her music on a deep level.

The 28-year-old Grammy winner firmly believes that she has no competition in the world of music, and her only competition lies within herself.

Tems made these remarkable statements during an interview on Hot 97 FM in New York. She emphasized that she would keep releasing music even if no one listened because it's her way of expressing herself.

She stated, "I'm competitive within myself, but I'm not competitive with other artists. Nobody can compete with me.

"I'm original. I have had children. But also, I'm all about being true to myself. My music is for people who relate to it. So, my music is coming from me. And my music is my outlet.

"I started making music because I didn't have friends. I had something to say and no one to say it to. So, I would just sing it. I would write it in a song and record it on my phone. I was doing that for years.

"So, music is my outlet. Whether anybody listens to it or not, I have to release it. Whether it succeeds or not, it's none of my business. But I need to release it. And it's for the people who can connect with it and are going through the same thing."
