Famous Nigerian singer and producer, John Saviours Udomboso, popularly known as Young Jonn, has shared the unexpected journey that led him to become an artiste.
The 29-year-old singer, known for hits like ‘Bahamas’ and ‘Aquafina,’ revealed that his transition from producing to performing was not a planned career move but rather a result of unforeseen circumstances in his life.
“I never really planned to be an artiste, but life played out,” Young Jonn said during a recent interview. He explained that his entry into the music industry as a performer was an accidental journey rather than a deliberate choice. He emphasized that his initial focus had always been on producing music rather than performing it.

Discussing his shift from producing to performing, Young Jonn described the experience as a significant learning curve. “It’s a whole different ball game. It’s a whole different hustle, grind, and business. It took me time, but I think I’m getting hold of it,” he added. He reflected on how the skills and knowledge he acquired as a producer helped him navigate the challenges of becoming an artist, but he also acknowledged that the two roles are distinctly different in their demands and processes.
