Renowned Nigerian celebrity chef, Hilda Baci, has once again made headlines after revealing the detailed breakdown of ingredients that went into her ambitious Guinness World Record attempt to cook the largest pot of jollof rice.
The historic cookout, which unfolded on September 12, 2025, at the prestigious Eko Hotel and Suites in Lagos, was nothing short of a national spectacle. Thousands of supporters, fans, and dignitaries gathered to witness the extraordinary moment, celebrating Nigerian culinary culture on a global stage.

In a new video shared via her official TikTok account, @hildabacion, Hilda gave a transparent breakdown of the astonishing quantities of food items and essential supplies used to bring the record-breaking attempt to life.
Massive ingredient list unveiled
According to Hilda, the monumental pot of jollof rice was made possible with the following:
4,000 kg of carefully washed basmati rice
612 kg of premium cooking oil
800 kg of Gino Asun peppered chicken and party jollof mix
600 kg of her special signature jollof pepper blend
220 kg of Gino Asun & peppered chicken cubes
20 g of Gino curry and 7 g of Gino thyme for seasoning
300 kg of onion, garlic & ginger blend
164 kg of fresh goat meat
1,200 kg of gas used to sustain the massive fire

The chef proudly stated that it took a grueling 9 hours of non-stop cooking, teamwork, and passion to serve more than 16,600 plates of jollof rice. According to her, the effort went far beyond cooking—it was about spreading “joy, love, and community” through food.
Preparations before the big day
Initially, the record-breaking attempt was announced to hold at Muri Okunola Park, but was later moved to the Eko Hotel and Suites to accommodate the massive logistics involved. Hilda and her team conducted several test runs weeks before the event, ensuring that the gigantic pot and all cooking arrangements were in perfect order.
She confirmed that on the morning of the cookout, the enormous record-attempt pot was delivered to Eko Hotel by 4 a.m., marking the beginning of an unforgettable day of dedication and cultural pride.
A national moment of pride
