Hilda Baci, the well-known Nigerian chef, also known as Hilda Effiong Bassey, has provided insights into the length of time it took for her to make the decision to attempt breaking the Guinness World Record for the longest cooking time. In an interview with TVC on Thursday, she revealed that five years ago, she had considered setting the record, but the circumstances were not favorable at that time. Hilda Baci continued to postpone the attempt until 2023 when everything aligned perfectly, and she triumphed by setting a new record of over 100 hours. According to her, she had to embark on a personal journey of self-discovery before reaching the point where she felt ready to take on the challenge, having the financial means and the right team to make it happen.
In her words;
“I thought about it five years ago, but then it wasn’t the right time.
“I still had to go on a journey of self-discovery as well before I got to this point where I could confidently say, ‘oh I am ready to do this. I can afford to pay for it and I have the right team that will come together to make it happen’.”
