Geh Geh: Aki and Paw Paw’s fame came from height, not comedy
Posted by badgeBusayo on 0

Financial analyst and online lecturer, Geh Geh, has sparked heated debate on social media after making a bold statement about veteran Nollywood actors, Aki and Paw Paw. According to him, the duo’s rise to fame was not primarily due to their comedic talent but because of their unique height, which he claims played a significant role in shaping their career in the entertainment industry.

The remark was made during one of his lectures on his online teaching platform, known as the Geh Geh University of Wisdom and Understanding. He used the popular actors as an illustration while trying to explain how looks and physical appearance can influence the trajectory of a person’s success, especially in show business.

He argued that in the entertainment world, appearance plays a huge role, adding that Aki (Chinedu Ikedieze) and Paw Paw (Osita Iheme) gained widespread recognition and admiration because their height naturally added humor to their performances. He claimed that while they were good actors, their physical appearance amplified their comedy, which made audiences laugh more easily back then.

In his words: “To dey ugly na advantage. In the entertainment world, your looks na advantage. Short… wetin blow Aki and Paw Paw that time no be say they really too funny, na their height. How many of Una know say Aki and Paw Paw still dey act movie till now? Why their recent movies no too dey blow like that? Na because they no look the way them look that time. Only that their look wey you dey see that time e dey funny…”

He went further to cite examples of other entertainers, especially skit makers, saying that many comedians who initially appeared poor and rough seemed funnier to audiences. But when they transitioned to living flashy lifestyles and looking wealthy, their content lost some of its appeal because the “rawness” that made people laugh was no longer there.
