The ninth edition of the Africa Movie Viewers Choice Awards (AMVCA) took place at Eko Hotels in Lagos State. The event was hosted by IK Osakioduwa and Zozibini Tunzi, the former Miss Universe.
Osas Ighodaro won the Best Actress in Drama category, while Tobi Bakre received the Best Actor in Drama award. Former Big Brother housemates Elozonam and Diane Russet also secured victories in the Best Online Social Content and Best Original Drama Series categories, respectively.
Veteran actress Patience Ozokwo was honored with the 2023 Industry Merit award. Beauty Tukura, an ex-BBNaija housemate, won the AMVCA Best Dressed award for females, while Enioluwa Adeoluwa, an influencer, received the Best Dressed award for males.
Anikulapo's film was recognized as the Best Overall Movie in Africa.
