Embattled influencer, Bobrisky Okuneye, has fired back at those who are fixated on his legal challenges, particularly at a time when the country is grappling with soaring fuel prices. Bobrisky expressed frustration over the fact that people seem more concerned with his personal issues rather than the significant economic troubles plaguing Nigeria, such as the inflated cost of fuel.
This backlash comes in the wake of legal complications involving both the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and the Nigerian Correctional Service (NCoS). The controversy escalated after the release of leaked voice notes by fellow social media influencer, Verydarkman. In the recordings, Bobrisky allegedly admitted to bribing officials at the EFCC to have his charges dropped and also revealed how he managed to avoid prison, attributing his escape to the influence of his powerful godfather and support from the NCoS.
Reacting to the relentless criticism and ongoing scrutiny, Bobrisky has urged Nigerians to shift their focus away from his legal controversies and instead pay attention to the more pressing economic challenges affecting the country. He expressed his frustration at the situation, highlighting the fact that while the country is struggling with major issues, such as fuel prices, many are still obsessed with his personal matters.
In a post on social media, Bobrisky wrote, “Fuel is now 1065 per litre and some people still think I’m the problem in dis country gosh.” This statement highlights his frustration with the misplaced priorities of some individuals who continue to focus on his personal life while the nation faces serious economic issues.
