American singer Doja Cat [/b]has stirred up controversy online after her appearance at the Met Gala wearing a wet T-shirt and a bathroom towel.
Many were eagerly anticipating Doja Cat's attire for this year’s event at the Costume Institute of the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, especially after her memorable arrival at the red carpet of the previous year’s Met Gala, which honored Karl Lagerfield’s cat, Choupette.
However, disappointment ensued as Doja Cat arrived at the Met Gala, themed 'The Garden of Time,' which was inspired by a J.G. Ballard short tale from 1962 and this year’s exhibit topic, “Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion,” wearing an oversized wet T-shirt that appeared as if she had just stepped out of the shower.
Doja Cat seemed to have emerged directly from the bathroom onto the red carpet, with one towel wrapped around her torso and another on her head.
Furthermore, her makeup appeared to have smudged down her face.
In a subsequent image, Doja Cat is depicted removing her hair towel to reveal her bleached blonde hair, dressed in what seemed to be an oversized T-shirt soaked in water.
Social media erupted with comments from netizens expressing their opinions on her appearance.
One user on X platform remarked: “If this is her only outfit then don’t invite Doja Cat next year. Take note Anna Wintour. Didn’t you ban her from Met Gala last year?”
“She’s never getting invited again i fear,” another user added.
A third comment read: “Doja cat should be banned from the #metgala if this is the final look…”
“Doja Cat – “I would’ve sent her home and banned her from all future Met Galas for wearing this nonsense 0/10,” a fourth user concluded.”
