The Nigerian rapper and songwriter, Folarin Falana, who is widely known as Falz, has responded to the criticisms he received from Bashir El-Rufai and supporters of the All Progressives Congress (APC) over his decision to have a knee surgery in the United Kingdom (UK). According to earlier reports, Falz disclosed that he underwent a knee surgery in the UK after sustaining an injury while playing football last year. However, following his revelation, Bashir El-Rufai, the son of the Kaduna State governor, ridiculed Falz on social media for choosing to have his surgery abroad rather than in Nigeria.
In response to the criticisms, Falz took to his social media handle to slam his critics, describing them as being "stupid" and "desperate for ammunition." He went on to advise them to simply use their smartphones to search for information on ACL rupture instead of making baseless criticisms. In his own words, "So pathetic these people are trying sooooo hard to latch on to this knee surgery gist. Eyahhh. Na so una dey desperate for ammunition. Just find a smart phone & google ACL rupture. ODE. The audacity that stupidity gives you sha. Sigh"
Accompanying his response was a screenshot of Bashir's tweet, which Falz sarcastically labeled as "insightful."
