Evangelist Ebuka Obi has addressed allegations suggesting his involvement in orchestrating a staged miracle with the ailing actor, John Okafor, widely known as Mr Ibu.

Responding to claims made by a traditionalist asserting that Mr. Ibu had deceived the public with a staged miraculous act at Ebuka Obi’s church, the evangelist expressed his happiness over Mr. Ibu’s leg amputation, attributing it to the fallout from the dishonest act he allegedly committed.
However, Ebuka Obi refuted these claims in a message to his congregation. He clarified that, contrary to reports, he did not invite Mr. Ibu to his church; instead, the actor came on his own accord. Additionally, he mentioned that, not being a film enthusiast, he was unaware of Mr Ibu's celebrity status until someone pointed it out to him.
Denying the alleged staged miracle, Ebuka Obi declared that Mr. Ibu did not testify on the altar of Zion Ministry, and the actor never sought his prayers for healing. According to the evangelist, Mr. Ibu's main concern was financial inadequacy, and in response, he showed kindness by offering him some financial assistance.
Ebuka Obi lamented the numerous false narratives circulating about him and drew parallels between his situation and that of the late clergyman T.B. Joshua.
