[p]Destiny Etiko, a popular Nollywood actress and producer, has taken to social media to address her colleagues in the Yoruba film industry and their fans, urging them to refrain from speaking Yoruba when communicating with the general public.

[p]The actress, who is of Igbo origin, expressed her concerns in a video that has been circulating on social media, highlighting the language barriers created by many of her colleagues who exclusively use their local language for conversation.

[p]Destiny Etiko cited similar challenges when observing comments and threads where Yoruba speakers prefer to communicate solely in their dialect, excluding non-Yoruba speakers from the conversation.
[/p][p]She appealed to them to learn how to effectively communicate in English or utilize pidgin English so that everyone can understand.
[/p][p]"I just don't understand why whenever you are speaking to Yoruba people, they always want to speak Yoruba. Ehhhhh, I don't get it, even on blogs. You all will be speaking Yoruba as if everyone is Yoruba. You guys should try to speak English or broken English," she emphasized.
