Nigerian actress, Dayo Amusa shares parenting advice, telling parents not to exhaust all their life savings on their children, and explains her reasoning.
She took to her Instagram page, where she faced criticism from numerous netizens regarding her advice.
Dayo Amusa argues that many parents devote all their life savings to their children, neglecting their own well-being in the process.
This can result in children distancing themselves from their parents because they perceive themselves as being on a different level.
She advises that while parents strive to provide for their children, they should also focus on self-improvement.
In her message, she states;

One mistake you should never make as a parent is raising your kids with all your life savings to eventually get so much exposure that they won’t want to stoop low to living around you. Upgrade yourself as u upgrade your kids. Plan your future so you won’t have your kids too far from you...
Recently, Having all your kids abroad seems like an accomplishment until you reach old age. That's when you realize that receiving money from them is not as valuable as having them close to you... That's when you realize that life's fulfillment goes beyond money but the quality time spent with your grown-up children and grandchildren...
