The hype man of Afrobeat artist Davido, Special Spesh, shared his reaction to the Grammys results where Davido did not secure any wins in the three nominated categories.
Following Afrobeat artist Davido's loss in all three Grammy categories, there has been a mix of responses in the aftermath of the awards ceremony.
Davido received nominations for Best Global Album with his latest release, “Timeless,” Best African Performance for the song “Unavailable,” and Best Global Music Performance for the track “Feel.”
Despite the nominations, Davido did not secure a win in any of the mentioned categories at the Grammys.
In response to the Grammy results, Special Spesh, the hype man, took to his page to express his thoughts. He criticized the Grammys, suggesting that they attempt to control anything successful, including the Afrobeat genre.
Special Spesh emphasized that despite the setback, they won't be disheartened by the results and remain committed to not letting the Grammys diminish the significance of Afrobeats or anything originating from Africa.
