Superstar Afrobeat singer, Davido Adeleke, breaks his silence after losing in all three categories at the 2024 Grammy Awards. Despite being nominated for 'Timeless' – Best Global Music Album, 'Feel' – Best Global Music Performance, and 'Unavailable' – Best African Music Performance, Davido didn't secure a win in any of them.
At the 66th annual Grammy Awards, Tyla from South Africa won Best African Music Performance, Shakti from India took the Best Global Music Album, and the Best Global Music Performance was awarded to the American director, Béla Fleck, Edgar Meyer & Zakir Hussain Featuring Rakesh Chaurasia.
Davido responded to the loss on the X platform, acknowledging Tyla's win as a collective achievement for Africa. He wrote, “Congratulations on your win @Tyllaaaaaaa! Big One for Africa! Keep soaring! 🔥⭐️.”
He also shared the post on his Instagram story with his 20 million-plus followers. Fans and well-wishers flooded Davido’s page, offering comfort for the loss and expressing continued support irrespective of the Grammy Awards outcome.
