Faced with the lack of support, he took matters into his own hands and devised a plan to raise funds independently. In a daring move, he broke into his father's Atlanta home in the USA and sold several televisions and furniture items, using the proceeds as a means to finance his music ambition.
Remarkably, Davido even contemplated selling his father's prized possession, the iconic Rolls Royce, as part of his unconventional efforts to raise capital for his musical endeavors. He recalled that his father's reluctance to endorse his music career pushed him to take extreme measures, showcasing his unwavering determination to pursue his dreams.
Reflecting on his audacious actions, Davido shared, "So I blew up, remember I said that I told him I wanted to move back, but he disagreed. I ended up dropping out; he found out that I wasn't in school for like a year. I broke into his house in Atlanta, sold all the TVs, sold his furniture. I almost sold his Rolls Royce because I was like 'yeah, I want to do this music' but he didn't want me to, so I was like 'you know what?' I'm just about that crazy."
