Controversial critic, Daniel Regha, shared his reaction following the Grammy Awards' outcomes for Afrobeat superstars, Davido and Burna Boy, who lost all their Grammy Awards nominations at the event in Los Angeles.
Daniel Regha expressed his opinion, asserting that the Grammy Awards had lost its legitimacy and value long ago. He pointed to Tyla's song, recognized as the "Best African Music Performance," as evidence supporting his claim.
He went on to argue that the loss of nominations by Davido and Burna Boy should not be a significant concern because, according to him, the Grammys do not define the greatness of an artist. Daniel emphasized that nominations and Grammy wins are not solely based on merit, drawing parallels with the Billboard Hot 100 chart.
In his words, "Grammy award is practically worthless, the organization l¤st their credibility years back. Tyla’s terrib!e song (Water) being recognized as the “Best African Music Performance” is proof enough. Just like the Billboard Hot 100 chart, the Grammys doesn’t define the greatness of an artiste, & people d¤n’t bag noms or win a Grammy based on merit; So Davido & Burna losing all their nominations shouldn’t be a big deal. Grammys nowadays are a g!ft for 'industry plants.' No offense."
