Popular critic, Daniel Regha, has harshly criticized singer Wizkid, accusing him of trying to gain attention by dissing his colleague, Davido. According to Regha, Wizkid’s actions are not only disrespectful but also a clear attempt to stay in the spotlight by dragging others down.
It would be recalled that the ‘Essence’ hitmaker recently took to his X page to throw heavy shades at Davido, stating that the 'Unavailable' singer lacks talent and going as far as labeling him ‘Frogido,’ a derogatory nickname that has been used by some critics of Davido over the years. This verbal attack sparked mixed reactions among fans and netizens, with many taking to social media to express their disappointment in Wizkid’s approach to public feuds.
In response to Wizkid’s comments, Daniel Regha expressed his disapproval, stating that Wizkid is deliberately trying to draw attention to himself by always throwing shade at Davido, rather than focusing on his own achievements. Regha opined that an artist of Wizkid’s stature should not feel the need to disrespect others in order to maintain relevance, adding that someone who is truly great doesn’t have to flaunt their success to feel accomplished.
Regha’s criticism struck a chord with many online users who agreed with his sentiments, while others continued to defend Wizkid’s actions, arguing that competition between artists is a normal part of the entertainment industry. Nevertheless, Regha did not back down from his stance, reiterating his belief that Wizkid should focus more on his craft rather than on petty jabs at other artists.
In his post, Regha further added that true greatness comes from humility and confidence in one’s abilities, not from constant self-promotion or public attacks on others. He stated …
“The fact that u can’t promote ur music or stay in the limelight without intentionally disrespecting ur colleagues, shows u need others to remain in the spotlight. Someone who’s big doesn’t need to remind the public of their status & accomplishments.”
