Daniel Regha expresses his view that the Super Eagles' victory, secured through penalties, was solely due to luck. Despite nationwide celebrations, he criticizes the team's lackluster performance, specifically highlighting a subpar midfield until the 62nd minute of the match.
According to Regha, South Africa displayed superior skills, and he singles out Nwabali, the goalkeeper, for commendation as the sole player who performed exceptionally well.
In his words: “Nigeria won but mainly luck, Super Eagles' performance was greatly disappointing. Nigeria’s midfield was so flat up until the 62nd minute & even after that, the team were almost outplayed. The determination wasn’t really there, SA played the better game truth be told, but kudos to the goalkeeper Nwabali, he alone did an excellent job.”
